This one is squarely aimed at Holden fans. If you love your Holdens, you are going to love some of these flashbacks to a bygone era!
As we’ve mentioned before, we have been trawling through our archives, and have uncovered many samples and examples of work we have done right across the 50+ years we have been in business. It has been a trip down memory lane for us, and we thought some of you would enjoy seeing more of the treasures we have uncovered.
We do confess that the first story in this blog isn’t from our archives as such – but is just as interesting.
1990 Holden HSV VN
We recently found a 1990 Holden HSV VN SS Group A up for auction via Lloyds Auctions (just quietly, what a buy this would be)!
The badges and decals we manufactured and supplied for the car still look fantastic, even after 31 years. Take a look at the photos, what an immaculate vehicle. LNI still makes the durable long-lasting 3D dash ID badges and the steering wheel badges as shown in the pictures. LNI also supplies decals seen in the middle picture.
Model – 2017 Holden Commodore Motorsport Edition
Next up, we have a 2017 Holden Commodore Motorsport Edition in 1:18 scale, which is a lovely looking model vehicle. Just in front of it is the actual vehicle's build number plate on a 1:1 scale.
Build number plates are fixed to vehicles when they are first assembled at the factory, and can usually be found under the bonnet, on the firewall in the car’s engine bay.
We regularly make build plates for a wide range of automotive companies. These build plates are premium decorative nameplates, and are designed and manufactured locally to withstand Australia’s harsh environment and still look great for years to come!
Holden’s ‘boomerang’ steering wheel
Between 1974 and 1980, Holden manufactured its HJ – HZ range of vehicles. The premier model of these cars came with an iconic ‘boomerang’ steering wheel insert, manufactured out of aluminium.
We found one of these little ‘boomerangs’ tucked away in our archives room, looking as good as it did when it was manufactured all those decades ago!
The Holden Lion logo was embossed, along with the silver border. The woodgrain effect was screen printed on aluminium. However, today the woodgrain effect is done differently and screen printing is not much in use for effects anymore. LNI regularly designs and manufactures embossed logos and borders for a range of car manufacturers.
