Emergency: Be immune to abrasion and fading

Written by Michael Smith | 25-Oct-2019 05:00:00

LNI knows that Australian emergency services work around the clock to ensure the welfare of all Australians. Badging, metal nameplates, and labels for firefighters, police, paramedics, and hospital emergency departments require rigorous communication, maintenance, and cleaning to meet performance, health, and safety standards.

In 2018, approximately 22,000 individuals attended Australian public hospital emergency departments daily, while 381,000 visited a general practitioner. In total, 71% of emergency department visits were finalised and cleaned within four hours, and 90% were completed and cleaned within seven hours.

Within this time frame, each piece of equipment will be handled and therefore soiled; each hospital bed will be knocked in hallways; and all will be scrubbed and cleaned simultaneously, with the expectation that the labels will remain visible and complete.

The clear issue is that low-quality nameplates fade, badges scratch, and labelling can peel off, which can significantly affect the day-to-day running of a department. Because regular servicing and inspections are required to maintain equipment safety and quality, maintenance information must be clearly visible to ensure medical staff can perform their duties correctly.

Making sure your branding and information stand out is important to make these jobs easier wherever possible. This includes 3D badges on medical equipment, serial nameplates on machines, inspection labels on cabinets, beds, and side tables, and graphic panels on electronic devices. Let's also not forget the important information required on labels and metal nameplates in emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks.

The often-overlooked importance of quality metal nameplates, badges, and labels for use in emergencies. LNI’s solutions can be engineered to be:

  • Resistant to liquids such as cleaners, chemicals and solvents.
  • Abrasion and fade-resistant.
  • Resistant to hazardous materials.

  • High performance and long-lasting.
  • Written on with a pen.
  • Applied to most surfaces.
