Posted by Michael Smith On October 04, 2023 [0 Comments](https://blog.lni.com.au/glow-in-the-dark-and-reflective-labels-why#postComment) More than a great kid's toy, glow-in-the-dark labels and decals (read luminescent or reflective) are a key part of any modern environment.  From kits labelled for [emergency services](https://blog.lni.com.au/emergency-be-immune-to-abrasion-and-fading) such as firefighter helmets to emergency exit labels on buses and trains, boats, trailers and trucks. These labels can glow for 20 to 40 minutes depending on the substance used and the strength of the light being used. The uses for glow-in-the-dark and reflective labels go way beyond safety only. The uses are only limited by your imagination.  For instance, you have important information inside of an enclosed vessel. Shine a torch on it and the label pops to life. Now all the information comes to you, and you do not have to enter the container. Ultimately saving time, and money and importantly reducing risk to yourself and others.  In a situation where the lights have gone out and you need to read some instructions? You came along to a transformer at the top of the pole, but how do you know what sort of transformer it is? Do you need to get in a cherry picker and ride up to see it?
